    We offer you the opportunity to learn about, cook and taste the products and the recipes of traditional Tuscany cuisine.You can spend a couple of hours of fun with the Tuscany cooking class held in the big kitchen of our restaurant where we kept the traditional fresh made pasta, the Bistecca alla Fiorentina, the Ribollita, the Panzanella, the Peposo with Chianti classico wine, the Fried chicken and rabbit. You will then have the opportunity to spend a couple of hours in a friendly environment, getting to know the secrets and the most genuine ingredients but also to prepare some of the most traditional dishes of Tuscan cuisine.

    Chianti is a really charming area full of rolling hills filled with forests of cypress trees, fields of sunflowers , vineyards , olive groves and small villages but also many wineries in which it is produced one of the best-known wines and good in the world: Chianti classico. From Poggio alla Croce you must head towards San Polo in Chianti (4 Km) and then to Strada in Chianti until you get to the magnificent and panoramic “Via Chiantigiana (SS 222)” which will take you to Greve in Chianti with its beautiful Piazza Matteotti in where you can buy local products such as wild boar salami and pecorino cheese at the old butcher Falorni or taste and buy wine and olive oil at the Cantine di Greve and visit the small but interesting museum of the history of wine. We recommend that you also visit the towns of Castellina in Chianti and Radda in Chianti where you can enjoy a wonderful view over the Chianti vineyards and medieval villages of Montefioralle and Volpaia. Carrying on up to Gaiole in Chianti you will find yourself on the road of the castles of the Chianti region: Brolio, Ama, Meleto, Spaltenna, Vertine e Barbischio with the possibility of visiting wine cellars and wine tastings , olive oil, grappa and Vin Santo.

    Florence is the most beautiful and famous city of Tuscany and of Italy easily reached in 25 minutes by car using the A1 motorway (Firenze Sud) and parking for free at Piazzale Michelangelo, from wich you can see a beautiful seesight of the city, or by train from the railway station of Figline Valdarno. Florence offers many cultural and artistic places to visit such as Piazza Duomo where you overlook the beautiful Florence Cathedral (Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore) and its dome by Brunelleschi, the Baptistery with the Gates of Paradise and Giotto's bell tower from which to enjoy the view of the city Piazza della Signoria where you will find Palazzo Vecchio, the town hall and splendid museum , Ponte Vecchio with its goldsmiths' shops or the beautiful Piazza Santa Maria Novella, San Lorenzo where you have to visit the Cappelle Medicee Basilica of San Lorenzo and the Medici Chapel with Michelangelo's statues. We also suggest you visit the many museums in the city such as the: Galleria dell'Accademia, Galleria degli Uffizi, Corridoio Vasariano, Palazzo Pitti, with the museums of Galleria Palatina and the Galleria d'Arte Moderna wich is one of the entrances of the beautiful Boboli gardens.

  • Siena – San Gimignano - Volterra

    From Poggio alla Croce you reach San Casciano Val di Pesa where you will find the entrance to the Firenze – Siena. Exit at Poggibonsi Nord and follow the signs for San Gimignano: medieval village of Chianti, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site , famous for its sixteen medieval towers that still stand on the countryside of Tuscany. We also recommend visiting Volterra ( just 20 Km from San Gimignano) where you can enjoy a breathtaking view and is famous for its alabaster artisans . Through the countryside and olive groves of Tuscany reach Siena: City of the Palio: ancient horse race that takes place every July 2 and August 16 in the beautiful Piazza del Campo where you will find the Palazzo Pubblico and the Torre del Mangia. We also suggest that you visit: Cattedrale dell'Assunta (Duomo di Siena) and inside the Opera museum, the Battistero, the Oratorio di San Bernardino and the Museum of the sacred art.

  • Arezzo – Cortona – Montepulciano

    Arezzo is famous for its historical center and thetrade fair which takes place every first Sunday of the month. A short distance we recommend you to visit Cortona: beautiful little town a few miles from lake Trasimeno surrounded by medieval walls situated at 500 meters above sea level from where you can enjoy a panoramic view over the Valdichiana. Take some time also to the beautiful town of Montepulciano famous for one of the most delicious wines of Tuscany and known all over the world: Nobile di Montepulciano.

  • Pisa e Lucca

    Distance: 100 Km by car or by train from Figline Valdarno train station

    Pisa is a seaside town famous for its leaning tower located in the Piazza dei miracoli. Just 20 km we suggest you also visit Lucca surrounded by magnificent walls where you can take a leisurely walk or pedestrian path which is the main city park where during the summer you can watch shows and events.

    You can enjoy a journey in the heart of Chianti tasting its typical products: wine Chianti Classico and extra virgin olive oil with wine tasting of the farm Tenuta La Novella (1 km from the flat - 5 euros each person).

    On the way to Greve in Chianti there are also many other farms that offer interesting tours and tastings like Castello di Verrazzano located about 15 km from the apartment on the road n°222 - via Chiantigiana or Castello di Brolio. At Frantoio Pruneti in combination with some simple dishes such as vegetables, mozzarella, bresaola or bruschetta. (4 km from the flat - 12 euros per person – minimum 2 participants – Prices on weekends and holidays are increased of 50%).

    If you come to visit us in November we also offer you the opportunity to experience one of the oldest and most interesting traditions throughout Tuscany and in particular Chianti: the olive harvest. The family Becattini has in fact more than 200 olive trees in a small plot of land in the Valdarno valley only 1 km from the apartment. You can then live this wonderful experience witnessing or participating in the collection that will be performed mainly by hand with baskets and towels. During the day we will offer also the rich snacks in the olive groves of meats, cheese, Chianti wine and finish with Cantuccini Vinsanto.

  • Chianti horseback trekking or horse riding lesson

    For the lovers of horse riding you can enjoy a day immersed in nature to discover the most beautiful Chianti countryside and woods most evocative of Tuscany with the possibility of horse riding lessons learning the techniques of cleaning and management of the horse, to the frame or a beautiful horseback ride (1 hour lesson 25 euros) or a horseback trekking with a professional guide (1 hour for beginners: Euro 25 or 2,5 ore per experts: Euro 40) at the Club House Trekking Cavalieri del Chianti at Strada in Chianti (Greve in Chianti) in Via di Sezzate.
